1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy is issued by Answered Labs Pty Ltd (“Answered Labs”, “we”, “us”), an Australian technology company. It explains how we handle personal information in connection with this website (answeredlabs.co) and our mobile applications, Walking With Jesus and Answered (together, the “Services”).
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we aim to be clear and honest about what we collect and why. Where a product has its own, more detailed privacy policy, that policy applies to the product and is linked in the section “Product-specific policies” below.
2. In short
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising in our apps.
- Prayers, stories and family profiles are private to the account that created them unless the account holder chooses to share them.
- Children’s profiles in Walking With Jesus are created and managed by a parent or guardian.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details such as your name and email address when you create an account, or when you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Content you create, such as prayers, reflections, story preferences, and profile information you enter for yourself or, as a parent or guardian, for your child (for example a first name, age range and an avatar).
- Messages you send us through the contact forms on this website or by email.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure and improve the Services, such as app version, platform, and product events (for example that a story was created or a prayer was saved).
- Purchase and subscription events reported by Apple, Google or our subscription provider. We never see or store your card details.
- Device push tokens, only if you enable notifications.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, health data or advertising identifiers.
4. Children and families
Walking With Jesus is designed to be used by children together with a parent or guardian. The account belongs to the adult; the adult creates any child profile and controls what is stored. We collect only the information needed to personalise stories (for example a first name and a chosen avatar) and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without consent, please contact info@answeredlabs.co and we will delete it.
5. How we use information
- To provide the Services, including creating personalised stories and storing your prayer journal.
- To operate your account, process subscriptions and provide support.
- To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Services are used so that we can improve them.
- To respond to your enquiries and, if you ask us to, keep you informed about our products.
6. Use of artificial intelligence
Some features, such as generating a personalised story or suggesting a Bible verse, use third-party artificial intelligence services. When you use such a feature, the text needed to produce the result (for example a story request or a prayer you ask to enhance) is sent to the provider to generate the result. We select providers whose terms do not permit our data to be used to train their models, and we design these features to send only what is needed.
8. Overseas storage and disclosure
Our service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Singapore and other countries where those providers operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way that is consistent with this policy and Australian privacy law.
9. Security and retention
We use established infrastructure providers, encrypt data in transit and at rest, and restrict access to personal information to what is needed to operate the Services. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we will continue to improve our practices as our products grow.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and for longer only where the law requires it (for example, transaction records). When you delete your account, the content associated with it is deleted from our systems.
10. Your choices and rights
- You can access and update your account information within the apps.
- You can delete your account, and the content associated with it, from within the apps or by contacting us.
- You can turn notifications and optional device permissions on or off in your device settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint, by emailing info@answeredlabs.co. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
11. This website
When you use the contact forms on this website, the information you enter is used only to respond to your enquiry. Our hosting provider may process standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site. This website does not use advertising cookies.

13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Where a change is significant we will let you know within the Services or by email.
